New Delhi, Jan 16: The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (ICT) of the Government of India has written to the CEO of WhatsApp opposing the new WhatsApp policy. In it, the ministry called for the repeal of new terms and privacy policies in the provision of services to Indian users. The government has written a letter to Bill Appart, global CEO of WhatsApp.
Asked about the security concerns associated with the users, the ministry said that by sharing the chat data in the business account, Facebook would provide information to other companies about the users. Resulting in questions of security. According to the ministry, WhatsApp has previously said that the user must accept the terms and conditions, or leave the WhatsApp. The company's approach seemed to force users to abide by the terms. This is because of the fact that users have no choice but to deny the terms. The government, however, briefed the company on the Supreme Court's 2017 privacy policy.
The government has also asked 16 questions on WhatsApp for data privacy and security. It asked for details on the basis on which the data of Indian users was made public. ମନ୍ତ୍ରଣାଳୟ ବ୍ୟବହାରକାରୀଙ୍କ ସହ ଜଡ଼ିତ ସୁରକ୍ଷାର ପ୍ରଶ୍ନକୁ ନେଇ କହିଛନ୍ତି ଯେ, ଚାଟ୍ ତଥ୍ୟ ବ୍ୟବସାୟିକ ଆକାଉଣ୍ଟରେ ସେୟାର କରାଯିବା ଦ୍ୱାରା ଫେସବୁକ୍ ଅନ୍ୟ କମ୍ପାନୀଙ୍କୁ ବ୍ୟବହାରକାରୀଙ୍କ ସମ୍ୱନ୍ଧରେ ସୂଚନା ମିଳିଯିବ । ଯାହାଫଳରେ ସୁରକ୍ଷାରେ ପ୍ରଶ୍ନ ଉଠିବ। ମନ୍ତ୍ରଣାଳୟଙ୍କ ଅନୁସାରେ ହ୍ୱାଟ୍ସ ଆପ୍ ପୂର୍ବରୁ କହିଥିଲା ଯେ, ସେ ପ୍ରଦାନ କରୁଥିବା ସର୍ତ୍ତକୁ ବ୍ୟବହାରକାରୀ ମାନି ନିଅନ୍ତୁ, ଅଥବା ହ୍ୱାଟ୍ସ ଆପ୍ ଛାଡ଼ି ଦିଅନ୍ତୁ । କମ୍ପାନୀର ଏହି ଭଳି ଆଭିମୁଖ୍ୟ ବ୍ୟବହାରୀଙ୍କ ପାଇଁ ତାରି ସର୍ତ୍ତକୁ ମାନିବାକୁ ବାଧ୍ୟ କଲା ଭଳି ହୋଇଥିଲା। କାରଣ ଏଥିରେ ବ୍ୟବହାରକାରୀଙ୍କୁ ସର୍ତ୍ତକୁ ଅସ୍ୱୀକାର କରିବାକୁ କୌଣସି ବିକଳ୍ପ ଦିଆଯାଇନଥିଲା । ତେବେ ସରକାର ସୁପ୍ରିମ୍ କୋର୍ଟଙ୍କ ୨୦୧୭ରେ ଆସିଥିବା ପ୍ରାଇଭେସି ନିୟମ ବିଷୟରେ କମ୍ପାନୀକୁ ଅବଗତ କରାଇଥିଲେ।
ସରକାର ହ୍ୱାଟ୍ସ ଆପ୍ରେ ଡାଟା ପ୍ରାଇଭେସି ଏବଂ ସୁରକ୍ଷାକୁ ଦୃଷ୍ଟିରେ ରଖି ୧୪ଟି ପ୍ରଶ୍ନ ମଧ୍ୟ ପଚାରିଛନ୍ତି। ଏଥିରେ ପଚରା ଯାଇଛି ଯେ, ଭାରତୀୟ ବ୍ୟବହାରକାରୀଙ୍କର ତଥ୍ୟ କେଉଁ ଆଧାରରେ ସାର୍ବଜନୀନ ହେଉଛି ଏହାର ସବିଶେଷ ବିବରଣୀ ଦିଆଯାଉ । ହ୍ୱାଟ୍ସ ଆପ୍କୁ ବ୍ୟବହାର କରିବା ପାଇଁ ଜରୁରୀ ଅନୁମତି ଏବଂ ସହମତି ବିଷୟରେ ବିବରଣୀ ଦିଆଯାଉ। ଅନ୍ୟ ଦେଶ ଏବଂ ଭାରତ ମଧ୍ୟରେ ହ୍ୱାଟ୍ସ ଆପ୍ ର ପ୍ରଇଭେସିକୁ ନେଇ କେଉଁ କେଉଁ ନୀତି ରହିଛି ସେ ବିଷୟରେ କମ୍ପାନୀ ତଥ୍ୟ ଦେଉ ବୋଲି ଏଥିରେ ପ୍ରଶ୍ନ କରାଯାଇଛି।
